The Snakewood Chateau Laguiole Grand Cru Sommelier is a waiter's-style Laguiole corkscrew handcrafted of natural Snakewood and steel, featuring a foil cutter and a 5-turn grooved corkscrew. Snakewood's name comes from its mottled light and dark markings, making it somewhat reminiscent of snakeskin. Variation in these markings make each piece unique.
Made with the same care and precision given to all Chateau Laguiole corkscrews, the Grand Cru models are given a reinforced joint between the screw and handle. The Grand Cru also has a somewhat more modern design, with steel extending further toward the center of the corkscrew, ending in a diagonal cut, while still retaining the traditional bee and shepherd's cross.
